ClassPad Math Application Accessibility

If you need assistance accessing (or have any other concerns about the accessibility of) our website or math application, please contact us via our contact us form and we will work with you to provide the information you need. Casio America, Inc. is committed to supporting students of all abilities. We are actively working toward further enhancements to our math application and currently support W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA success criteria within our ClassPad Math workspace software. Here are some of the completed efforts:

Color, contrast, and font size

Our standard settings feature a muted color palette to focus on mathematical outcomes. Therefore, we have created a high-contrast mode to support those who require additional visual assistance, with contrast ratios meeting AA conformance. Font sizes are aligned with AA conformance, but we have also included font scaling as needed by the user.

Keyboard access and shortcuts

While the soft keys (on-screen keyboard) is our recommended method of mathematical input, every function can be accessed, inserted, and edited using a physical keyboard and/or arrow keys.

Screen reader support

ClassPad Math currently supports both NVDA and JAWS screen readers, and we are considering ways to support other assistive technologies. Please see the feedback section below for more information.

Page navigation

ClassPad Math is designed to perform all the computational work within a unified workspace. The standard use involves creating windows ("stickies") from a menu of sticky types, accessible by clicking anywhere in the workspace with a mouse button.  However, if keyboard-only use is preferred, this mode can be enabled from the application's top-right menu.  New stickies will be constrained to a vertical region and can be accessed via a combination of [Tab] (selection within a sticky) and [F6] (selection between stickies).

Ongoing effort and feedback

We view accessibility as an ongoing, collaborative effort. Please contact us via the contact us form if you have any feedback or suggestions as to how we can improve the accessibility of our website and math application.
